Voters and parents believe afterschool programs can reduce violence.

In a study of likely Democratic primary voters in Philadelphia, 69% said that providing more afterschool programs is a "very effective" way to keep kids safe from crime and gun violence.

In a study of parents with children in afterschool programs in Philadelphia, 95% said keeping kids safe is a very important reason to send kids to afterschool programs.
